How To Build An Email List for Marketing.

     There’s an idea that you need to create an email list because somebody told you to create an email list.  An email list is built so you can drive profits into your business.  You need to be able to create cash flow from this, and it goes along the lines of presenting yourself online, or in an environment, at a meeting, in an event space where you’re going to be continuous in expressing yourself, as in, “Hi, my name is.  I’m an expert in, and here’s what I do.  Here are my products and my services.”

     The more that you create content and have a lot of conversations about who you are, what you’re an expert in, then you actually start to bring in those individuals, those prospects as we call them, into an email list so you can continue to educate them about your products and services, and then take them through to the next steps.  You want to be able to utilize the email list to generate the Financial Freedom Day number that you’re looking at.

     How do you build long-term relationships with customers through email marketing?  With the progress of AI, especially ChatGPT, it’s now easier than ever to create these messages, and put them out front of your customers.  You need to edit them a bit with your own personal touch.

     Now, those of you that are out there, searching on the Internet, you’re probably going to run into MailChimp, ConstantContact, MailJet.  There are 60-100 services out there.  Here’s what you want from an all-in-one system.  You want to be able to have the opportunity to bring in a prospect that then transitions into a lead.  What does that mean?  It means that you want to be able to bring in somebody who is interested in your product, interested in your services, and make sure they have a continuous education inside of this automated system, until they’re ready to purchase something.  Now, you want to be able to have something that will capture that person’s information, their first and last name, email, and phone number.

     It’s then going to take them on a customer journey to be able to then see more of the product and services you offer.  Now, as they continue this journey, there are probably some products that are going to be offered, and there are probably some emails you’re going to write to be able to send out to continue to nurture, which is another marketing term, meaning that you want to put as much educational content in front of them, until they’re ready to make a decision.

     So, how do you build an email marketing list from scratch?  The first thing you want to do is, you want to figure out who your audience is.  You can’t just simply put an ad out and expect a ton of people to come into this system, and then automatically you’re creating revenue overnight.  The reality of marketing is, there is a lot of spam out there, there’s a lot of robots out there, so the moment you go and put up an online ad, you’re probably going to generate leads day one overnight.

     I would say that 50 of those leads are true leads.  It means that they’re true people, who were on their computer or their phone, putting in their information, wanting to learn more about you.  As you figure out how this is going to be your process, remember that it’s actually easier to start than you think.  A lot of us have a cell phone, a lot of you probably have a couple different email accounts, and you’ve probably have already been in communication with a lot of prospects, sending them invoices or sending them proposals, or have been meeting people.  And you have these little things called business cards, where you have a lot of information already in order to start building that email list.

     I want you to put all that together.  Get your business cards and get your email contacts, get the phone contacts, and start putting them together.  You’re then going to create a valuable freebie.  This is the quote-unquote lead magnet, which is something of value that you give away for free, that will be about your product, about your service.  About what you’re an expert in.  There are tons of videos on Loral’s YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/lorallive/videos, where we talk about Canva, about graphic design.  We talk about how you can create them, even with the help of Artificial Intelligence like ChatGPT, to simply create this for you.

     Once you have created a lead magnet, the next step is to setup autoresponders welcome sequences, so that when somebody actually says, “Hey, I want your product.  Here’s my information.”  How do they download it, how do they go through that sequence, in that process, so they can actually get on your calendar.

     So, all of this is in the process of building this email list you want to entice people that are interested in what you have to offer.  Give them something for free.  Get them inside of your email list, and then continue to send messages until they’re ready to make a decision.

     Remember to consistently engage with your email list, consistently deliver value, engage with your subscribers.  You can’t expect someone to make a decision if all they do is come into your system, and then you don’t send them a message for a month or two.  You want to keep it continuous, which is why automation is very important.  Once somebody comes into your email list, continue to send them information, so you can see where they go.
